Meet some of our Team
The Applied Behavior Academy is founded and led by a dedicated individual, but the strength of our services comes from the broad network of professionals we collaborate with. Our team of contributors includes consulting Behavior analysts, SLPs, OTs, credentialing specialists, paralegals, consultants, and other experts — each bringing decades of experience in their respective fields.
While we don’t claim to know everything, our mission is to assemble the right experts to provide support that reflects the highest standards of behavioral excellence. We ensure that anyone contributing to our work has demonstrated expertise and a proven track record of positive results in their area of practice.
At The Applied Behavior Academy, we believe that combining specialized knowledge with a commitment to ethical and practical solutions allows us to deliver services that truly make a difference for professionals, families, and organizations.
Christopher Smith
Lead Credentialing Specialist
Christopher brings extensive expertise in healthcare credentialing and operational optimization, with a focus on behavioral health and rehabilitation providers such as ABA, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy practices. With a strong background in health information management and healthcare administration, he helps organizations streamline the administrative processes that often delay service delivery.
Over the years, he has supported practices nationwide by reducing enrollment timelines, setting up and maintaining CAQH and NPIs, managing insurance credentialing and contracting, handling authorizations and Single Case Agreements (SCAs), and overseeing EFT/ERA/EDI setup and payer follow-up.
Christopher is known for his detail-oriented, proactive approach—and for his deeper mission: protecting providers from predatory systems and empowering them to take control of their credentialing journey. His work is always grounded in transparency, autonomy, and putting client care first.
He offers reliable, tailored credentialing support for both new and growing practices, always aligning his work with the unique goals and priorities of each provider.

Carol Carter MA., BCBA
Founder & Managing Director
Carol has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2015 and remains deeply passionate about both the science and the people it serves. After years of working hands-on in clinical settings, she became increasingly discouraged by the high turnover and burnout in the field—watching talented, compassionate individuals leave due to a lack of training, mentorship, and support. That frustration became the spark behind The Applied Behavior Academy.

The goal of the Academy is to equip professionals—especially those in clinical roles—with practical, real-world skills in a safe and encouraging environment. It’s a middle ground between academic coursework and learning on the job. More than just passing a test, the Academy wants every learner to walk away knowing they can actually do the work.

As the vision grew, so did the realization that families, workplaces, and communities also needed guidance in how to navigate behavior-related challenges. From parents, professionals, and people just seeking clarity, The Applied Behavior Academy aims to be a helpful starting point—or at least point you in the right direction.
In the future, The ABAcademy hopes to launch a mentorship program for adults who want to offer meaningful guidance and support to the autism community. Thank you for being part of this growing dream.
